2nd Ballerina piece. I really liked the outcome of the previous; so I thought I'd try another with opposite contrasting tones. I really like how the watercolour captured the movement of the skirt, however, I think I need to improve on my layering for it. Either way, definitely going to keep working on these. 3D Manchester/Russian method for facial reconstruction from the second part of the workshop today. Really pleased with the outcome of this. I did a half covered half exposed muscle model and learnt a lot more about how the muscles are placed, built up and modelled onto the skull. Forensic Art workshop today looking at identification with uni. This one is the 2D process and I'm really pleased from the results. Wasn't too far off the known image of the individual's skull which I'm pleased about. Getting back into figure sketching/painting for a portfolio for next year. Decided to do a secondary sketch from one of my Pinterest reference boards. Really liked the outcome and how the paint/crayon/pen/pencil merged.. even if it did turn the pen ink from black to blue. Swipe for a collage if you want to see the steps to make the image. Last one for today. Wanted to focus on the texture of the onesie for this one, so I decided to go for an ink sketch again. I tried to make the most of the mark making with the ink, however, I need to work on proportions more especially with ink, as I'm more used to the sketch approach than precise. A lot happier with today's compared to yesterday's sketch. Decided to take a "Inktober" approach and bring out the fineliners. I can definitely can see improvement in my fineliner skills since doing Inktober last year, which I'm very pleased about.
