Apologies again for being delayed, a friend’s birthday and catching up on uni work delayed the two. Like last time though, I will be doing (technically) 3 in a day. So, this will take some time.. however, I had a plan for this one.
Day 6, The Immigrant
A year or so ago, I got some really nice Graph-it markers for my birthday. Eager to try them, I created a character that I would use for a D&D campaign a friend of mine was doing (her name was Lyra and she was a fish thief, if you’re interested). The overall image turned out like this.
This was an alien race that I’d always had in mind, so I thought it was a good one to use, especially for the was the Burning Man died (spoilers). So a water race is what we will be going with. Name for the race? No idea. Name of the character? Probably Lyra, but as for all her race/past details. Up in the air at the moment. For now, lets just focus on redrawing her better.
So for starters I wanted to draw her in a better perspective for two reasons. The first being I wanted to experiment more with different angles and it gave me a good way to use my Reference: Face board.
I found an image I thought would be an interesting image to try (link below) and adapted my original character to be in that position.
After happy with it, I decided to push forward with the ink, and used a thick angled tip to do this one, allowing sharp edges where needed.
Despite the fact I missed a few bits of shading, this one would need background and context to fully understand the whole image. However, it turned out well, and I’m getting the hang of ink and fine liners, slowly..
I have misplaced one though, so I may have to find that one for the next one, the shadow.
